Negative stock in items

manas123manas123 Member Posts: 33
I have one items which is defined in the BOM.
Inventory was 1000 Nos
Consumption is posted 1200 and hence the stock shows negative 200.

I would like to know why NAV allows to post when there is not sufficient inventory?
Can we block for such transactions?

Thanks

Manas

In standard manufacturing you CANNOT drive stock negative through the consumption journal - it is actually one of the many complaints posted every so often on the forums (I like the control).

This means if you can do it then it is a modification (or unlikely a localisation).

Or maybe consider using "Bin" if you don't want any modification

B3nz - The bin is irrelevant when using the consumption journal in manufacturing - it will not let you go negative UNLESS you modify it. If you use bins or serial/lot this simply means you cannot go negative in other areas of the system :D
