How do I get the export to excel button to work for a report

Hi guys!

I need to change an existing report to export to excel when I click on the excel button on the screen. How do I go about doing this?

    You can't send a report directly to Excel ... You could create a form with the same data as the report and send that to Excel.

    Or modify the report and use excel buffer table to export it to excel.

    I understand your frustration Merril,

    This to me is one of those things that would take 20 seconds to fix. ](*,)

    WHY can't the Excel and Word Icons just gray out when they are not available. Since they seem to work, customers click and click and nothing happens and they call to say "But my export to excel doesn't do anything"

    Come on Microsoft just have those icons grayed out.... please....
