Special characters in Navision

andyRandyR Member Posts: 27
Hi there,

i try to insert the Ω (i hav to copy this from word because my notepad doesnt know the sign either) sign into the description of an item (per xml import). but Navision only shows me Û.
I tried the ansi2ascii codeunit , which is provided in the download section but it does not work (i am not sure whether it is created for this). Is there a way to put the sign into the description?

Thanks!
Andy

    Hi,

    have you tried this:

    Start -> Run -> charmap

    and copy the symbol from there to NAV?

    NAV is ansi - not unicode and the character you want to insert doesn't exist in the ansi character table.

    If you use the RTC in NAV 2009, you can insert it by cut-and-paste from the windows charmap, but this does not work with the classic client in NAV 2009 or older versions.

    I don't think it will work even in RTC client. After you paste it and save the record, you'll notice that it will turn it back to a O character.
