It will also depend upon how you have reservations configured, and at what stage production is at - production of the picking list etc.
Either way the system will still show you that although you may have physical stock, it may not be physically available.
The simplest way is with planning and pegging, from here you can see everything, or you can look at the on hand, or the transactions, it really depends upon the settings and what you want, but these areas will give you the information you want.
I still have query ...When i run the master planning at times it consider the onhand & at times it doesnt , which makes the purchase requisition very unclear .....i hv infact crossed checked the parameter which says reserve item automaticaly & the one on the plans include on hand inventory ...its not very clear at what stage it consider the on-hand .
Do i have a answer for this ???? it keeps me confusing ](*,) ](*,)

Then it really depends. The positive and negative days will have an influence, you could have item coverage setup to pull from elsewhere depending upon the settings, although the on hand would be referenced it would be by warehouse depending upon your setting in the Dimension Group for item coverage. You also have the ability to remove warehouses by setting them as manual.
My guess however is that you have your positive days set low. So for example if you had a period coverage of 30 days with 10 days positive and 1000 in stock, if after 20 days you had a requirement for 100 it would tell you to buy them as the positive days have expired so the on hand stock is ignored.
