Manufacturing-Consumption-Journal-Negative Inv

peloffispeloffis Member Posts: 18
The consumption journal will not allow me to transact a entry which will drive Inventory negative. Does anyone know of a setting that will change this, or is it by design. Make perfect sense, but our disaplan is not there for this yet.

Thank you for your help!

It is a standard restriction, you cannot say you have consumed it into the parent without having it.

It's easy to make some minor development to allow this. I've tired this once but then I hade issues with costing because the inventory never was filled up to at least zero.
So yes the restriction is there for a reason and working the wrong way will get you in trouble so my recomendation is to work the way that's intended :)
