Import Text into BLOB, then display on report

Hello all,
Is there a link that shows how to accomplish importing text into BLOB field and displaying in a report? Or are there existing NAV objects that do something similar? (I run 4.01 sp3) All I have experience w/is importing pictures as BLOB.
Any input is greatly appeciated. Thank you.
