Send To Excel - Forward Slashes In Field Data

Hi,
If a field contains a forward slash / then it causes an error when using the Send To Excel feature :
XML ERROR in Table
REASON: Bad Value
FILE: C:\Documents and Settings\JonathanW\Local Settings\Temp\Job List.xml
GROUP: Cell
TAG: Data
VALUE: 09/131
Does anybody have a fix for this, perhaps a change to the .xslt file ?
