Mulitple BOM

santoshmkcetsantoshmkcet Member Posts: 229
Dear All,

An Item can have only One BOM attached to it.

In a scenario in our client place, they have 2 types of BOM related to an item
1. Direct Raw Material BOM
2. Consumable BOM

The client needs the BOM to be defined in two different screens, but
a. MRP should run both the BOM, &
b. production order should contains components of both the boms.

Any work around solution?

Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards
Santosh

I'd add an option field to the BOM Line table, and then make a form for each of the two types to fill it in ( or change the existing BOM form so that you have 2 tabs, one with the consumable lines and one with the direct raw materials. ). That way it would LOOK seperate, but still be one and the same BOM, so no further changes in Nav would be needed.

Construct them as separate BOMs and then the top level item has a 2 line BOM, each line type is set to Production BOM meaning it is treated as a phantom and will blow through this level on the works order.

No Problem, mine works "modification free" though depending upon the actual requirements :D
