Sending a link to a mail client

Ok this is not really a direct Nav question but here goes.
I working on a workflow app that needs to send an e-mail with a link to a Dynamics Nav page.
From the run command we can type something like 'DynamicsNAV:////runpage?page=5700' to open the page. Now if I embed this link in an e-mail and send it via Outlook it will think the link is 'DynamicsNAV://runpage?page=5700' ie converting it to a valid URL which will fail. If a specift the severname, service name and comapny name in the link then it works fine, of course I have no way of knowing the server name or service name for the person opening the e-mail at the time I compose the e-mail.
I'm guessing there is no way around this but if anyone has any bright ideas they would be hugely appreciated....
