Question about Item Tracking

When you fill in the the Item Tracking Code on the item card you are obliged to fill in a Serial Number when you want to sell this item.

But what if you only want the serial numbers for a certain range of customers, not for all.

So imagine there is Customer A & B... Both buying item X
When selling to customer A, item X needs to have a Serial Number
but when selling to customer B, item X does not need to have a Serial Number

Is this standard functionallity available ?

    1. You should change the title
    2. I don't know if there's a standard functionality, but as this is somewhat strange for a standard behavior, i don't think so. the solution to your problem can be to create a dummy serial number (in a setup) and insert that number when invoicing to particular customers (you can use a new boolean field on customer table or posting groups, if applicable)

You can setup the Item as FreeEntry, meanning you have the option to enter or not enter a serial No. Then with addition of a new boolean on customer card. Called Required Serial no, and some additional code to check in CU 22, you should be able make sure that those customer have a serial No.

so do you can tell, where this option is - I can´t see it?
Is it maybe only in US-Version?

FREEENTRY is the Item Tracking code in Cronus. It basically is an item tracking code with Nothing checked. So the user can choose to enter serial or lot no, or not enter.
