We are a distrubution company. We use Navision 2.6 and a native binary DB. We are planning to introduce Barcoding solution to automate lot of processes. Right now the picking and packing stuff is being done manually. I guess it is easy to buy equipment like wireless scanners etc.. How to link our navision system to the barcoding scanners etc..so that we have real time inventory etc. Is there any software which will help us to achieve this stuff. Does Navision 3.7 offer any functionality in this regard.

ADCS is a data collection system that uses radio-frequency technology to collect and validate real-time inventory information. Warehouse staff members can scan items using a handheld device. This information is relayed back to the Navision system via wireless transfer where it can be validated against the data stored in the system. For example, a user might scan five items that have been picked to fulfill a sales order and then be informed immediately by Navision that six items are required. Using ADCS, the quantity, location, bin and zone number are recorded so that the system is able to tell exactly where a specific item is at any given time. Data collection becomes faster, and the accuracy of inventory data increases, enabling better businesswide decision-making.
