Close income statement with Dimension

Hi,

We will close the Income statement, but the GL account has Dimension setup...My question is do we have to break the amount per Dimension if not, is there an effect Analysis By Dimension?

Example:

GLaccount 1001 total Amount post to Gen. Journal is 1000.00 Do we have to break it per Dimension? hoping for reply.

Close Income Statement batch job has the functionality of calculating amount in the G/L account totaled by Dimensions. You need to select the required dimension at the time of running the batch job.

if a GL account has, has no permanent dimension attache to it.? what we will be the approch for it?

It will group on the basis of dimensions posted with the entries and not what has been attached with the G/L Account.

As a rule, I would always recommend clients to close income statements by dimension if dimensions are used. Irregardless of whether it's setup as mandatory or not on the G/L account.

Check the Options tab of the Close Income Statement process.
