Nav 5 with SQL 2005 and ADCS issues

goodonegoodone Member Posts: 3
We are trying to migrate to SQL and new versions of Nav in steps.

We are using the 3.7 application set and have migrated the data into SQL without any problem.
We are using the NAV 5 SP1 client for performance.
Everything with this works fine except....

We also use RF on top of ADCS.
When we install NAS and ADCS version 5 SP1 , we receive the error that the NAS does not support encryption.
However, since we are using the 3.7 application set, there is no option for us to create an encryption key in NAV.

We then tried to install NAS and ADCS using version 3.7
When we do that, we get the error, The database has already been converted by a newer program version.

Any ideas on how to get around this since this seems to be the only thing not working?

see if you can take the 5.0 sp1 ADCS objects and import them into your 3.7 db. I'm pretty sure with minor or little changes you'll make it work.

    Thank you.
    That was an excellent suggestion.

We have done that, but once we Telnet in, we get the error:
NAS Error: Unable to write date to the transport connection

It looks like we get that even when using the Cronus database.

There must be a setting somewhere that needs to be set.
We will keep looking, but even getting that error is progress.

We will post something once we find the problem; if in the meantime, if you have
suggestions, they would certainly be welcomed.

I'm guessing you are trying to get 5.0 sp1 cronus to work?
You've installed NAS and Setup ADCS Encryption?
And you've followed the w1w1InstADCS.pdf document for installation instructions?
the pdf is on the CD in doc folder.
