Automatic Sl.No in Line Form(already posted but not clear!!)

Hi,
How to generate 'Serial No' Automatically in Line form, when i enter the new item in Line form, want to create 'Sl.No'..
constrian: If i enter the item in first line the 'Sl.No' column should be '1' and create next item in the next line it should be '2' as so on...
If suppose i want to Insert the new item in between 3rd line and 4th line..how to assign the 'Sl.No' ??? it would be 3rd is existing and 4 will be inserted item(new) and 5 will be (4th one).....
Plz...suggest me...so confusing....
