v5 sp1 client with v4 sp2 Database

In order to resolve some issues our reseller is planning to implement v5 sp1 client and Nas with a v4 sp2 database.

Is this feasable? Are there any problems with doing this?

Thanks

This should not be a problem. It is common practice to run older databases with newer NAV clients. We ran a client's 4.0 database with 5.0 SP1 NAV clients for several months prior to upgrading their database. We also have a large 3.60 database (>200 GB) running on 5.0 SP1.

What issues are you trying to resolve? Is this native or SQL?

    Thanks bbrown.

The issue trying to be resolved is an adcs/nas (bar code scanning) problem and it's ongoing extermely slow performance. So are there no compatibility issue's to speak of just improved underlying operation?

With SQL you may find some performance differences and need to do some tuning. In particular with larger databases.

Remember that when you do a technical upgrade (executables only), that you must replace ALL NAV related executables, including all instances of NAS, server executables, etcetera. Make sure you test this first.
