Partitioning tables in SQL Server 2005+

Has anyone tried this yet? I'm tempted to partition some large tables, like ILE, WE, and GLE across multiple file groups in order to improve performance, but didn't know if anyone had tried it in NAV yet.

It will almost certainly make the system slower.
