SMTP Transport lost its connection to the server 0x80040212

Hello
Occasionally, when sending e-mail via SMTP (CU400), I receive this message.
The SMTP mail system returned the following error : (0x80040212) : The transport lost its connection to the server.
Are there some TIPS, or your experience, or parameters (timeout etc) that must be checked/changed. The available mail server is Lotus Notes.

I tried several things, but the customer now provided me with another smtp server setting (I think their exchange server), and now it works fine.
