Query on Global Dimension

Hi Friends,
I have a requirement. I want to add a new Global Dimention. But there are lot of entries that are already posted. My concern is whether we can attach the new global dimension to those Posted Entries. If it is not directly possible, then is there any add-on tool that is available to do this?

2. If yes, just add it to "general ledger setup", function, change global dimensions and add it in the empty slot you have.
all posted entries will be modified accordingly.
Notes: if you developed some tables with reference to global dimensions and you didn't modified this process adding your table, the dimensions on your developed tables won't be updated.
run this process when no one is working, as it locks a lot of tables, therefore can create problems to users
