Extract data from SQL database

Hello all,

i want to use CSIDE code to extract data from an outside SQL database. I am pretty familiar with Automations. Do you know what 'Automation Server' is used to connect to sql and send queries. And how does CSIDE store the result. Or perhaps someone has an example?
