Fixed assets - Barcode concept

One of my customer is asking the Bar code concept to Fixed asests .

did anybody done this customization on this .

share your thoughts & experience on this .

You mean something like printing the FA No. in barcode to some label, stick it to the FA, and each time someone needs to identify the FA will scan this barcode into some field and it will automatically fill rest of the record? You need only printer for barcode labels, barcode scanner and some imagination and knowledge of the processes of your customer... ;-)
