Auto Completion of Field

Hi,

One of our clients have reported an apparent 'bug' that has to do with the auto-completion of a field that appear to only work if an 'Item No.' starts with an alpha character.

For example when you enter a Purchase Order line of 'Type' = Item and the 'Item No.' is entirely numeric, the system tells you that the item doesn't exist if you hit tab halfway through entering the number.

It however works for items that start with an Alpha character.

I have tested in version 4.1 and 5.0 and 5.1 and it works the same everywhere.

Hope this makes sense.

Is this a problem or just the way that it works?

Quite good noting but it is so because if u r doing alphanumeric then it picks up the first item available and if u r doing for complete numeric number then it doesn't.

If u have alphanumeric then it picks the smallest number first for example A001 and A019 u have in db just mention a it will bring A001 because it picks the characters and then brings in the smallest but in case of number it is strange. Wow good finding, but why don't know, if u get the answer let me know.
