Problem when starting Navision client

phermspherms Member Posts: 3
I'm running Navision 3.70 on a citrix server.
When I use a Windows XP pc with the latest ICA client to log in on the citrix server, I can start Navision and do my work.
When I use a thin client with windows CE embedded and the latest supported ICA client for this thin client, I can start Navision, but it seems like Navision hangs at the splash screen. The only way to close Navision, is to end the fin.exe process for the user.

There is no way I can get Navision to work on a citrix server when using a thin client.

Is there anybody who can give me some tips, or is there anybody who has experienced the same problem?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look into the forum on the citrix support site. There should be a solution.
Do you make it right, it works too!

    1) There were problems when the Timezone of th server and client were different. Check that.
    2) Be sure that the user have write permissions on the client folder.

(main reason was that the client cannot generate the help index and other files on start. Because timezone difference, the help index is rebuilded each time the client is started...)

    Thanks for your reaction.
    I tried this.
Everyone has write access in the navision client folder on the citrix server.
I disabled the time zone lookup in citrix. Timezones on the thin client and the citrix servers are the same, but the navision client still hangs on the splash screen when starting.

My knowledge base is telling me only these two things:

    1) Write permissions for users into client folder
    2) Disabling use of local timezone from client on citrix (the Citrix document I have for that is not available anymore). But this problem had ID DK-337-991-WBL9 in old Navision knowledge base

But you can find these info in old Navision support archive on PartnerSource (https://mbs.microsoft.com/partner/navis ... earch.aspx):
