adjust cost - GL posting set-up

Hi
If I set user set-up 01/03/09 to 31/3/09 and in GL set-up same i.e. from 1/3/09. then system does not allow to run adjust cost batch. But I need to ensure that no backdated posting i.e. prior to 1/3/09 shd be done in GL.
What is the remedy? Is there any other set-up?
