The site is a definition of an area that may contain one or multiple warehouses. This is an inventory dimension and allows the business to divide up the business. BOMs and Routes can be set by sites, so you can have a different construction per geographical position for example. This applies to prices, and therefore any other documentation.

The Lot ID is the internally generated tracking reference, assuming you are referring to this field.

The Pallet ID allows you to capture the details of the pallet the goods are on. This is pallet tracking, so you can put five items with 5 different batches on one pallet, and then track using a pallet id.

Yes the batch number is what NAV refers to as a Lot number - the terms are generally interchangeable in business.

I gone through the manual , I found meaning of ware house , Location.

If site is differrnt than the location .
Then what is the difference between Site and Location.

Please let me know the solution.

A site contains a warehouse or warehouses.

BOMs and Routes can be site specific

    A warehouse contains locations

Stock is held in a location in a warehouse.

    Thanks sir,

i am not able to understand the use of the location.

now i can receive the items against ware house through purchase order .

i can ship the item s against a ware house through sales order.

then what is the use of the Location.

    could u elaborate on this.

Your warehouse is the size of a football pitch, telling a picker it is somewhere on a football pitch is a bit pointless. Any warehouse of any size will be divided up, traditionally this would be aisle, bay, shelf, position, or any combination, but basically if I was told the needle I was looking for was in E-04-02-05 (the location) I would know this is in position 05 on the second shelf in the fourth bay of aisle E, so I can walk straight there and find my pin (perhaps my warehouse should have been a haystack).

Aisle is a subdivision of the warehouse. It is usually the first division of the warehouse, then you have racks in aisles, shelves in racks and positions in shelves.

However how you configure it and apply it is up to you.
