ODBC connection in c#

Well the problem i would guess is pretty simple.
Im using Navision c5 2.1, and i've installed the ODBC driver that followed with the CD. Now, i would like to retrieve data, using a windows application, created in C#.
When i try to add the ODBCConnection (Using gui, its faster than writing the entire code), a problem arises:
Could not create a new ODBC connection:
[S1000][Simba][SimbaEngine ODBC driver][DRM File library]General Error.
Is it nessecary to use an SQL server?
Help would be greatly appreciated, thx.
