hello, i have to set up a test server to test the time it takes to make a software upgrade from 2.6 to 3.1

problem:
i have already set up a machine with sql 2000 and the correct sorting-properties.

then i installed the xp_ndo.dll in the SQL-BINN-directory, also the stored procedure.

but when i try to open the database with FINSQL.exe, i dont see any database on the server.

what is missing?

What db are you looking for?
From your description one would think that you are looking for a Navision db from SQL server common install  - there isn't any - you should create it yourself.

Please read very carefully doc from 310*_CD\Upgtk\W1\Doc\w1w1upgr.pdf

And there's no point upgrading to 3.10* from 2.6 which in my opinion is a very good, small and effective solution and easy to maintain - I must say I cannot use any of these words about versions of Attain and MBS Navision, but if you do upgrade - don't choose 3.10 - go for 3.60 or 3.70A.

You need to create a new SQL database and then restore the database.fbk backup file included as an installation option, into it. Make sure you know the meaning of the database settings.

In 3.70, there is a SQL database supplied with the installation if you just need a local database on a local SQL Server.
