payroll; generating monthly salaries

i have these issue with the ax payroll 2009, where am able to generate both earnings and benefit/deductions for each payperiod authomatically or manually but when i generate the payment it does not pick up the salaries assigned to the employees, all thge calculations are correct....somebody help
