NAV 3.7 Upgrade to NAV 5.0 SP1

My client is using NAV 3.7 with Native Db and also using LS retail for his POS activities. Now he wants to upgrade to NAV 5.0 SP1 with SQL server, but does not want to touch the POS. He wants to Upgrade only the NAV back office application. The POS was speaking to NAV Db all these days.

First of all i want to know whether it is possible?

If yes, What are the precautions that i need to take care during this process?

Yes, it's possible.

Make sure you test.

Also LS Retail databases are huge, so make sure you leave enough time for upgrading of data.

Also Any tables that you are replicating, you need to view them and if they have changed, then you need to change the replication to send only the selected fields.
