How to print a Data Matrix Barcode?

RallnusRallnus Member Posts: 79
I shall print a Data Matrix Barcode (also found as 2D Barcode - see also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Matrix). I've searched the forum but I could't find anything about this code. Which font has to be used? I think this code will become most popular.

ask "google" for "Data Matrix Code schriftart" / "Data Matrix Code font".
    there are some encoder dlls.

Don't fergett, that the font is not all. Also you need a algorithm, to generate the crypted code. Like on Code128 where a checksum is needed
Do you make it right, it works too!

Ok, thank you for this hint. The font you can get at: http://www.softpile.com/Desktop/Fonts/R ... index.html

My hope was that the algorthm is already designed.

I would think the dox matrix printer better be at mega high quality print

@Savatage: for Code 128 is an algorithm availible - so, why not for Data Matrix?

I'm not sure what you are asking..but my point is that scanners can be very sensitive. I've tried in the past to read barcodes created by dot matrix printers and the scanner was unable to read to barcode. For me the printout was just not "crisp" enough that the scanner could read the code without error.

I was trying UPC-A but perhaps 128 is easier to read?, I don't know. I used a Epson DFX5000+ on the hightest quality and it still couldn't read. Even if it could..the absolute speed of a dot matrix printer on it's highest quality was so slow that you would want to pull your hair out.

Epsecially when I could probably pick up a hp laserjet 1020 on ebay for $50.

In the german NAV forum I've got the hint to:

    http://www.tec-it.com/en/software/barco ... fault.aspx

This seems to be a professional solution for this problem?!
