Financials 2.0c, in use since 2000
We have an item that we buy regularly at a cost of $7.90 and have been for years.
We had 92 on hand when we received 80 on a new PO at a new cost ($8.25)
We then moved 2 pcs to another warehouse
We then Posted the Purchase Invoice and got these GL Entries:
Inventory -16.10
Inv. Adjmt 16.10
Inventory -5.25
Inv. Adjmt 5.25
Inventory -5.25
Inv. Adjmt 5.25
Inventory -0.70
Inv. Adjmt 0.70
Inventory 660.00
Payables left out on purpose, no relevance.
The new Average Cost is now $8.25
Any ideas why those entries were made and why the new cost is $8.25 would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

1. Inventory -16.10 (for movement of inventory from 1 place to another 2pc * 8.25)
Inv. Adjmt 16.10
2. Inventory -5.25 ????? Me too no idea
Inv. Adjmt 5.25
3. Inventory -5.25
Inv. Adjmt 5.25
4. Inventory -0.70 [(8.25 - 7.90 ) *2] for doing it on average cost.
Inv. Adjmt 0.70
5. Inventory 660.00 (Total of 80 * 8.25)
2 pcs at 8.25 would be 16.50, not 16.10
2 at 7.90 wouldn't add up either. Average of 7.90 and 8.25 - 8.075, no help there,,,,
Moving goods from one whse to another should have no effect on anything but the perceived location - I think ????
the $5.25 - all I can say is that it's 15 * (8.25 - 7.90) - but thats meaningless as far as I can tell.
Very confusing, we are not a big company but we do 5 to 10 purchases every day, all of which seem very straightforward, except this one.
Regards
Just realized : 16.10 + 5.25 + 5.25 + .70 = 27.30 which is (80 - 2) * (8.25 - 7.90) - still not sure what that means but it must mean something !!!!
