Parent Form/Sub Form

Please advise how to update a parent form when values in the subform are updated. Vice versa is easy but am unable to update parent form from the sub form.

Depends on what field type.. code??? integer??? decimal???
u can write code on oninert, onmodify of the subform table to update the header table. u need to me more specific
