Upgradation of Navision 5.00 to Dynamics Nav 2009

Hi all,

I need to do Upgradation of Navision 4.0 customized Db and ,Navision 5.0 Customized Db in to dynamics Navision 2009 version .Which upgradation method is easier ??. I read about the PDF new custom version(Merge the customizations into the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV database, which inthe Developer’s Toolkit is called the New Custom version) . Is this upgradation is easier. please help me out for the what are the steps and Procedures for following for Upgradation Process

Follow the guidelines in the upgrade documents. They give you a good idea of what to do and the steps to follow. If you can't find them here or on dynamicsuser.net, they are definitely on partnersource.

You can use any text comparing tool you like, but you will have to merge the existing customizations into the new code for the new version. Personally I like Beyond Compare.

1. Get a 2009 db.
2. apply the changes from 5.0
3. export the objects into your 5.0 database.
4. export the role center data and import them into 5.0 db.

Yes why need to Export the Objects in to Navision 5.0 DB

well once you've merged the objects into 2009 in step 2, you export them and import them into the 5.0 to upgrade it.
