Removing a Service Order from the Dispatch Board

I have created a contract and used create service orders under periodic activities. An order is placed in the dispatch board and I assign a resource. I would like to then use the create service invoices to invoice this this SO however the SO will remain on the dispatch board until I invoice it from the board. I want to be able to create the SO under periodic activities, assign a resource and then somehow delete the SO from the dispatch board so I can create an invoice from the periodic activities.
