Database Problem

I have Database NAVIN4.0SP3 version.If anybody will open this(4.0SP3)database in 5.0 client,then he/she can convert that 4.0SP3 database in 5.0.I want that it should not be done whether it is Native DB or SQL DB.How I will stop to convert Database from lower version to higher version in Native or in SQL database?

Restrict the permissions for the users. Use parameters in the shortcut to open specific database. Train your users.

I think that Navistion only can give you the error/warning message but It will not stop you from doing wrong......... :whistle:

Do not install both NAV to same user.

In Server there is only 1 version of NAV then also user can convert that database

You do not Install the both version ( Nav 4.0 & Nav 5.0 ) in the Client PC with same user.

OR Create two Shortcuts on the Desktops (Client PCs) one is for Nav 4.0 and another is for Nav 5.0 (As kine already mentioned )....

And don't go through Start ----> Run----> Fin
