Adjust cost Item batch job do many things which can't be done manually. If you require only to change the unit cost than you can revaluate your inventory with the correct rate.Mukesh Sharma0

Cost is never changed in the same entry, but is always adjusted with new adjusting entries.can we directly go to the table and change the cost?
So never try to change the posted entries, else you end up in a much fierce firefighting.Regards,

Try it system will not allow you to change the unit cost even in the Table. In fact you should never do such things any time it will impact your costing.Mukesh Sharma0 -
Modification of posted entries to rectify the mistakes from back end or by batch jobs is certainly a no-no thing. You will end up with a lot of mess including mismatching of interdependent tables, zero system integrity etc.nota wrote:can we directly go to the table and change the cost?
You can use the standard ways of Physical Inventory Journal and Revaluation Journal.CA Sandeep Singla

This is the question you need to answer - you ignored it by asking if you could manually change the data in the table, which is obviously no.

Don't know why but quite regularly I found people who prefers to modify the data at back end to rectify the mistakes or block the inconsistency function to allow posting [-o< [-o<AdamRoue wrote:Alex Chow wrote:nota wrote:Today i would like to ask you Gurus that my Item Adjust batch file is not working on a few items and now i would like to adjust them manualy.

Yes, this is quite disturbing indeed... But I highly doubt this is only limited to NAV. I'd bet this case happens in SAP, Oracle, etc as well.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

But to run revaluation journal, you must run ACIE first.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Thanks everyone who has contributed. The best solution seems to be the "Revaluation Journal". Can someone explain what needs to be run before revaluation journal? or are there any particular steps to be followed.
Thanks a lot!0 -

How would you revalue item that is no longer in inventory (qty = 0) and still has inventory value?
I am looking for the most proper way. I could positive adjust it, revalue, and negative adjust it i guess. But it just seems wrong. It seems wrong to have positive value with 0 qty in the first place.Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
