When a user is designated as the Substitute approver, how is it triggered for them? For instance, if the user1 is out and user2 is the designated substitute approver, how is user2 notified that user1 is not available or is not approving?
The substitute is setup Approval Setup -> User Setup. This is not workflow to notify the substitute except approval notifications but you would expect the person changing the setup would notify the substitute.
Delegate button from forms Approval Entries or Approval Request Entries has to be pushed in order to notify the substitute approver that he has this approval entry to approve.
If User 1 is out of the country and unable to logon to press the delegate button, who else can do it? No one else has User 1's password to log on for them.
Can the administrator do it?
It would be nice if we could could the approval workflow to automatically delegate if an Out of Office email is sent (since NAV uses email notifications in the first place). Is this possible?
