This does work without a patch - I have it running on my machine!

Is there any error message given? Do you see anything in the EventLog?

In our company we have RTC installed in at least 5 different Vista Pc's. No problems.

I've had no issues running with Vista (Business Edition/SP1).
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

That error messaging is probably something we should improve #-o

But I spoke with one of the developers and he proposed to do the following:
    1. Go to the "Control Panel"
    2. Select "Problem Reports and Solutions"
    3. Select "View Problem History"
    4. Find one of the hang events for the RTC
    5. Click "Copy to clipboard"
    6. Paste the content into this post

That should give info so the issue can be investigated further!
