How look the errormessages?
Is the port enabled on the local Windows firewall?
Exist on the NAV2009 user accounts? How has the permissions to connect?Do you make it right, it works too!0 -
Hi garak
I am attaching the error images for both the SQL authenctication and windows login also.
Thanks in advance. please do let me know the solution.AMARNATH SRINATH0 -
You are trying to open the NAV 5.0 db with NAV 2009 client.
Can you be more specific what you want to do? You cannot use one DB with two different verions of NAV.0 -
It look so, that you will open the 5.0 Dataabse with the Classic Client of the 2009 Database =;
If you confirm the messages the databse would be converted and you can't open it with the 5.0-er Client.
If you use the 2009 Client only for tests, create a new 2009 Database or use the Cronus from the product DVD.

hi garak and kine
Thats true i am using a navision5 db in nav 2009 , so i believe this is not possible and i need to create to new db and this db has to be a navision 2009 classic one . Then we cannot merge the datas right. Is there any way to use a db of navision 5 in nav 2009 , or can we make anychanges alone.
let me also know if i can create a duplicate navision database in my sql and convert it in 2009 and i believe it will work for the 2009 users right.AMARNATH SRINATH0 -
You can do the technical upgrade of the 5.0 DB to NAV 2009. But it means that everyone needs to use the NAV 2009 classic client to open the database. This is common way. You just needs to convert the database.0
