Make to Order - Consumption and Output locations

Dear Navision users,

In a 'make to order' environment i have a BOM of two levels where Item A has one BOM and Item B has another BOM. I have two locations Location 1 and Location 2.

My requirement is that within the same production order i wish to consume rawmaterials from Location 1 to give output as Item B in Location 2. Then, consume Item B from Location 2 and give the output as Item A in Location 2.

Is there any way i can set the consumption location based on BOM.

Regards,
Venkatesh

Assuming you are doing this as two BOMs and two works orders you could set the components at location against each SKU, so for the first item you take the components from location 1, even though you are making at 2, and then when making A at 2 you take the components from 2.

Yes it works :) Thanks for the information.

I defined the 'Components from Location' as Location 2 in the Location 1 SKU card of item B and 'Components from Location' as Location 2 in the Location 2 SKU card of Item A.

    1. Consume items from Location 1 and post output B at location 2
    2. Consume Item B from Location 2 and post output at Location 2
