Hi,

I am trying to run reports in role tailored but can not see any data.
All the reports comes up with message (in the preview pane)
"An error occured during local report processing"
"A datasource instance has not been supplied for the data source Dataset_Result".

Any Suggestions please.

Thanks
Srivas

yes. all reports show data on classic client but not on role tailored client.
All forms on role tailored client are showing data.
do you think that I may have broken some report file while creating new reports.?

yes. all reports show data on classic client but not on role tailored client.
do you know how reports are managed in classic and RTC?
classic --> as usual: Dataitem/section design etc...
rtc --> through reporting services: go to a report design which of a report is not working (from the object designer), then click view, layout.
firstly i tought that you have not a rdlc layout for the report, but the error that comes up is different.
    i'll do some test...

Yes I have created 2 reports in same fashion.
    To add to this :
when we right click the report body (on Visual studio) and open the property window. I have dataset name as DataSet_Result. as per the attached image.

did you alrady try use "create layout suggestion" function?if not, try it and then try to run the report: if it works, match the differences between the working and non-working one (i mean rdlc layout)

I do not seem to have "Create layout suggestion" under tools menu.
I am using Visual Studio SP1. I reinstalled the whole visual studio to check whether problem is becuase of the software version.
Can anyone guide me if I am doing it wrong?

But this has not changed the error i was getting before its still the same. I think i have missed some link here.
I am getting this same error in standard reports as well which I expected will work anyhow.
I am not able to resolve the error "A datasource instance has not been supplied for the data source Dataset_Result"

try to check the "DataSetFieldName" of the controls of your sections. it must be filled (i don't know if this is the problem, just try  )

Datasetfieldname property is set. As mentioned earlier same error is showing up on all standard reports as well.

found some thing new. I did a complete installation of Nav 2009.
Ran the local database on a role tailored client. Report showing data. hurrah!
But when I connect to the server , report does not show data.
