Hello,

I have a data set that I would like to import from AX 4.0 into AX 2009.

From AX 4.0 I have created a data definition file, and exported all tables resulting in a DAT and DEF file.

When I try and import this DAT file into AX 2009 it comes up with errors associated with the Customers and Vendors trying to be imported.

It fails saying that the records already exist. This is not possible as I am importing data into a test image and new company that has never seen this data.

Any help would be appreciated...

Regards

Craig

    Hi Craig,

There is a significant change in the way Ax 2009 handles addresses. Any import of addresses has to go through global address book (under Basic). Unlike previous versions, here there are many tables involved including DirPartyTable, DirPartyAddressRelationship etc. Perhaps a technical person at your end might be able to help you in understanding all these tables and relationship between them.

On another note, if you haven't already done so, I would also strongly encourage to go through Ax 2009 upgrade guide (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en)
