Nav 5.1 Jobs - Why would you create a line as 'Schedule'

Hi,
Maybe I'm missing the point here, but for the Job Planning Lines in Nav5.1 why would you create a line with the Type of 'Schedule' and not 'Schedule and Contract'?
I realise that you could then create a seperate 'Contract' line to represent activity against the line created as 'Schedule'.
Is it solely there to support double entries when you use the G/L Job Journal?
I can appriciate that 'Schedule' represents something you'd like to do, 'Contract' represents something that you actually did (so you can invoice against it), and that you can create useage entries that are neither 'Schedule' or 'Contract'....
Many thanks for any insight into this!
