vat amount specification

We have recently upgraded from V4 to V5, (had a bit of a nightmare due to the changes in the service module), we now get the VAT amount specification printing on every service invoice, which we do not want. I have read the help files to no avail, we do not have different vat levels and we are not using the invoice discount, so I do not think it should print these extra lines.
Anyone got any ideas.
