Change Company Currency

Hi,
Due to the legal requirements, we need to change the company currency from EUR to USD. We are using Dynamics AX 4.0. I am aware of the currency conversion tool available within the standard AX, but i am not very comfortable using it. I would like to know if someone has already used this tool? I will appreciate a feedback on how advisable is it and does it really work? If there are any known issues what are these?
