At the Value Entries, I found the Cost Per Unit jump to 712++ due to unknown reason.
The reason must be known before you can being to address the problem. Go through the item ledger and value entry table line by line for this item until you can isolate the transaction in question.
I dont know if this has been resolved. But i recently ran into this problem, Ours was the inventory in a particular location was negative, once we entered a journal to adjust the quantity and ran the adjust cost the unit cost as correct.

Can be a number of reasons - you should look at the value entry table to see. The most common is a positive adjustment with an incorrect cost.
