Hi Nav Experts!!

Please suggest me how to handle the situation.

My next project, I need to work on Procurement Management and Inventory Management. I want to know in Navision with modules / areas I need to concentrate and which manuals to refer.

I have to handle both Technical and functional.

can Experts share your experience like which are the pain areas, what steps to taken etc.,

Can you please ask your company to have a senior consultant with you. Sucessful project implementation chances will go for a toss if they do not provide his/her services to you.

The questions asked by you are so vague to provide you a meaningful solution.

Please consider the message what Mr. Ssingla suggested.

First u need to know what is procedure companies follow when it comes to procurement.
They may call the procedure what Nav contains in a different name.
Better take the Senior help.

Any how i am throwing some help about the functionality.


Procurement Management is nothng but a Purchase module .
Inventory management is nothing but a Inventory , it is already include in Purchase module.


when it comes to the Manuals u need to go through the Trade manual to know the purchase process.

1) how can u create a Purchase order...
2)how can we get the the Purchase prices and Discounts from a vendor
3)how can u assign the item charges
4)how can u send the retun item s to vendor through returnmanagement.
4)Analysis Reports.
5)Creating Analysis Reports.
6)Analysis by Dimensions.

when it comes Inventory management u need to know what is 1)multiple locations,
2)Location transfers,
3)reservations,
4)Item tracking.

Finally u should focus on standard Reports
