See the chapter on 'Server Based Backup' (Hotcopy.exe) in 'w1w1ism.pdf' in the Doc folder of your Navision product CD.

If you are using a C/Side database the either hotcopy, wich is useful if you want to automate the process, or inside the Navision client go to Tools -> Backup. Both these can be performed while there are users in the system. If you are on a SQL Database use either the Backup from the client as above or just use SQL to perform the backups.

What you don't want to try doing is taking a backup of the .FDB file directly using external backup software while the database is in use.

    Dear Ian / Freidns,
As u said i tried to take Backup from Client using the path u mentioned, but i am getting error as 'Dead Lock'.
Is it reliable to take backup from SQL server options.
