Hi,

I'm trying to export a text/code field from navision to excel(csv), but the problem i'm facing is that the field is not formated properly when I open the excel sheet. Eg. In navision the field contains something like 100210201011 but in excel it appears as 1.0021E+11. Any way i can get the field to be exported correctly?

Thanks

    few ways

have a ' (quote in front)
    or
    use a FORMAT command.

Have you tried exporting right to excel instead of createing a csv file and inporting that?

usually when you import a csv datafile in excel it lets you define that column - set it to text.

are you using the Get External Data function in excel or are you just opening it in excel?
open excel-> Data->Import External Data->select your csv file->set problem column to text.

If you search the forum for excel buffer you can skip the whole csv file thing.

Open the file in notepad - it should be correct in that file, if so then it's not about how nav exports the file but how you open it in excel.
