Change Status of Production Order

Can somebody explain how this forms works?

I want to change the Status of a Production Order from 'Planned' to 'Released'.

I can just change the Status of the "Production Order" record, but i would like to do it through the form
which is called when you do this from inside the Production order

This because i need to check the "Update Unit Cost"... how can I do this?
