I am trying to create a shipping report which will show a history of shipped orders and detail lines, including if that detail line was backordered at the time it was posted.
Right now I am having a problem displaying how many were backordered (not shipped) at the time the order was posted, as it is only giving me the amount that was shipped. Any way to get this information?
Example:
Order #1
Item QtyOrdered
ABC 2
January 1st, the order was posted but there was only 1 in stock. January 5th the order was posted again when quantity was in stock.
The report should show that on January 1st there was 1 qty ordered and 1 qty put on backorder.
Thank you,
Leo

So if you delete the back order sales order, it will no long be shown as back order since the customer cancelled the back order.

In standard NAV, back order is considered as what you still have on order and what has been shipped.

Total ordered quantity will be entered into Blanket Order, Make Order for quantity available & to be shipped. The Outstanding Qty on the Blanket Order will be backorder. Make Order as necessary when there is quantity available.
The following applies:
The Blanket Order date will be the date the order was placed.
All quantities for Sales Orders with dates later than blanket order date will be backorder quantity.
